I dont think phpBB would change to Olmypus without first releasing an alpha or beta here to test it for people who are daring enough to try it, and then after about a month of beta testing there would be the conversion. I hope they contiune to suport 2.0.x though

Nice little incorrect conspiracy theories.

http://www.phpbb.com" target="_blank atm resolves to sf, but area51 is not hosted there (nor resolves to there), it is on a different server.

Of course we're also doing maintainence whilst it's down, but this isn't upgrading to 3.0 at this time
A PHYSICAL move? I thought it was a change in hosting companies... Hmmm...

tiger2kn5 wrote: Whatever it is... is a good thing that they are down because now all the users from phpbb.com can come to area51 and put the system under alot of traffic/stress...

so now we can see how olympus handles under pressure ;)
Or putting pressure on the developers, et al, when all these new arrivals to area51 begin asking for support on the Olympus forums, instead of in the 2.0.x support forums... ;)

PS: Expect a fresh new crop of new posts asking... "When will it be done?"

Yes, a physical move. We own the hardware and are changing hosting locations.
