I know!

I am so very impressed and proud of the phpbb devs.

There were times this year where there weren't commits made for weeks, and now there are heaps every day.

I am really very glad things are back on track!

8O 8O Wow! That is SO much better than the former! 8O 8O

Also found some time to look at the new Coding Standards, the new phpBB codebase looks GREAT! MUCH more organized than the last one!!! I can't wait for request_var()!

looks like someone found there "happy pills".

Noticed earlier that the style has been tweaked yet again.. "preparing for the final style release". Now he is teasing us through the commits as well as the forums. Just plain annoying.

We're all waiting for the final style release--including the team members. (No, we don't get to see it either!) However, it will come out with 3.0.0 final, which SHOULD be this year.

So shoosh, then. It MIGHT be out this year, and it MIGHT NOT.

Acyd Burn wrote: As has been said, everything can change. The current approach has a lot of benefits, let me name some:
  • Still the benefit of seperating it from board styles, it is a given style which is not changeable
  • The ACP now has the same seperation between code and presentation - it would be a kludge to handle the acp differently
  • The beauty of using all the advantages we have from the template engine, using proper login boxes, proper message boxes/trigger errors, proper confirm pages...
  • The ACP got rather unreadable with all the html code in it.
If you have built something off from CVS you have to expect the need to rewrite it - we warned everyone to not use CVS.

I too have built many additions to the ACP some quite complex but I will happily rewrite.
Everyone was warned (many times) that things may change, besides the reasons above more that balance the out the extra work.

One major advantage being the use of a Default Style in the ACP, this is going to save hours and hours of work for style developers (and admins/mods).

All I can say is... Nice Work Guys, Keep it up.
