I think i read somewhere that there were to be 4 milestones before final release? i wanted to know if that is correct.
So that means once we reach milestone 3 theres yet another one before release?

No. Milestone 4 was cancelled and the current milestone (the 3) is the last one before beta.

I wouldn't worry about the milestones as they really aren't being strictly followed or used at this point.
