Formatting

Post by alitokmen »

Hello, everyone...

One functionnality that lacks on most forums is indeed that formatting is only suitable for "professionnals": people do not have a WYSIWYG editor but just a "tag adder utility", which may get confusing...

You have editors like FCKeditor (http://www.fckeditor.net/" target="_blank) that are openSource and are actually WYSIWYG editors for web browsers... Why not to integrate this (are something like this) into phpBB?

If you do, it will be a really huge reason for people to prefer phpBB!

Cheers;

FCK Editor is only in Beta currently. They call it RC but its still adding features.

I'm sure someone once both Olympus and FCKEditor are RELEASED, someone will make a MOD to link them.

Searching is currently disabled here, but this has been addresses many times before. The simple answer is, it's not going to happen anytime soon, if ever. People will probably write a mod, and that's fine, but don't look for it in the core feature set.
You can never go home again... but I guess you can shop there.

So we'll be waiting for the mod

But, as I said before, this could *seriously* help phpBB get noticed when compared to other boards...

Forget it alitokmen, your argument is pointless here. I've already tried countless times before but sorry to bring the bad news.

The reason is.. phpbb DONT wanna get "noticed" compared to other boards.. go figure what that means. Use the disabled search system to enlighten yourself :roll:

area51 is a phpBB development site, and the version of phpBB we are using here is a development version. Both or either of these facts might account for a disabled search feature. alitokmen, like everybody else, is free to use the feature request tracker and to express an opinion about WYSIWYG tools.

Trolling, however, gets old fast.

Thank you. I'll then have to open an account on SF.net as well :)

Have a nice day
