to show the medium size image in the forum posts..
edit viewtopic.php
somewhere around line 800 or so
find

Code: Select all

$avatar_img .= $row['user_avatar'];
$user_cache[$poster_id]['avatar'] = '<img src="' . $avatar_img . '" alt="'.$row['user_name'].'" />';
change it to

Code: Select all

$avatar_img .= 'tmb2_'.$row['user_avatar'];
$user_cache[$poster_id]['avatar'] = '<img src="' . $avatar_img . '" alt="'.$row['user_name'].'" />';
that's how far I got
I have to go throught the pages to modify the rest... the memberlist doen't show the avatar, but with me it will.. that's the tiny one.. and on the profile page it will be the tmb3_ (big) one ;)

yeah.. me too... some time ago
actually, this is a script from wherever it came from.. 8) I simply modified it so it would work together with phpBB about a year ago. I dunno how it works but it works.. lol..

What I have learned though is that while modifying code, it breaks.. then you need to grab the php-manual (the one online) .. that's when you learn the most of it.

making a forum... yeah, I could do that... in about... lets see.. give or take 3 years or so... and it probably would be something simular to phpBB 0.01
it's also easier when you write the code yourself, then you know where what is and what it does... but what these guys are doing is GREAT..
I've been going through thousands of lines of code just to find out where the heck i needed to make the changes, just that took me a a day.
and I am sure someone will step up and say it's crap and can be better :(
but hey! it works :P

yexusbeliever, what the *beep*? Almost every post I've seen by you contains something about Christianity. What's up with you? :P Joined phpBB to preach and to mission? :lol:

Because really, what has Adams religion got to do with anything?
And your talk about phpBB being like the Christians... increasing in strength when struck at etc etc. I think that applies to all religions. :?

For the record, I'm not of any religion.

I second what Virtuality said here.... I know I'm off-topic.

yexusbeliever, we do not want to hear about your preaches here as much as you wouldn't want to hear mines here (I'm what you would call an atheist, and interested in pagan beliefs). If you want to talk about it, go find a religion-oriented forum, we talk here about phpbb. Also, do not forget phpbb is a worldwide community, and lot of people aren't christians at all.

And I'm going to lock it.

a) It's gone off topic from the original question
b) This is not a MOD support or authoring forum either. Please wait until we make such forums available before posing MODs

As an aside to the original question, it is recommended that you don't MOD the code until it is release, but I am aware of a couple of things that have been done as proof of concept.
