The post icons are much beter than the acual smilies.
I think the smilies should be replaced by the post icon like graphics.

The IPB smilies s=are good sized so you can acually add something on it with out it being swished.

It was just a suggestion psotfx, if you want to keep them that way that's fine. Personally I don't really care, but he was just suggesting that you change them to look more modern. Maybe you could even have a competition to see who can come up with the best smilies, that way the Dev's don't have to waste time on something so trivial.
