Happy Birthday 2.2!!!

Wow. I remember two years ago when this board materialized. I was so excited for the new release. Funny thing... I'm still excited for a new release. Anyway, just thought I'd pop in a "happy birthday 2.2" thread. I just can't wait for her parents to let her out on a date...

People are always free to fork phpBB and make it better in less time. So far, interestingly enough, despite all the vocal complaints, there have been no takers so far as I know.

Anyway, yes, Happy Birthday phpBB 2.2!

Although it's been a long gestation and is a "laborous period", I feel good about phpBB 2.2's genetic composition and rejoice not only in its conception, but this Happy Birthday too. I'm looking forward to the real beta birthday and getting to clean up the afterbirth in beta and RC and then to pamper this new baby with "affection and love", which will be much fun IMO :).

Along those lines, are we allowed to submit 'patches' to the developers even though it is in alpha? If so, what format do they like the patches in?

I am not talking about little 3 line patches either.

The developers are not in the habit of accepting patches at any time, but they will be interested in constructive criticism during the beta and RC cycles.
