Topic Page Link

I would like to say that I love phpBB.

One thing that I would like to see in v2.2, the links at the bottom of topics with more than 10 posts, could they be bigger and possibly on the left hand side where they would be more visible? Just a suggestion, I like how Invision Power Board handles them, that's why I'm suggesting it because that is the only Forum System that I think competes with phpBB.

Keep in mind this is a Alpha. Also, if you dont like it, it is easy enough to change on your own. Now, if your talking "out of the box with it on the left", I dont think they would change it.

From a usuability point of view, having them to the right would be better as people typically have their mouse pointer floating near the scrollbar, and the shorter the distance required to navigate, the better.

Next, and please, for the last time, it's a style (subSilver) and this can be very fluid till phpBB2.2 is feature complete, especially consider that phpBB2.0.x which most of us use looked like this:

During alpha (sporting "Default"): http://web.archive.org/web/200103031336 ... net/phpBB/" target="_blank
During a later alpha (sporting "PSO", later known as "Euclid", never released): http://web.archive.org/web/200108070926 ... et/phpBB2/" target="_blank
Buring beta-1 (sporting subSilver): http://web.archive.org/web/200110060154 ... et/phpBB2/" target="_blank

Now changes here are probably going to be evolutionary, but please, stop nitpicking about them now, it's not the time.

HOY COW!!! Except the third one that we're all pretty much used to, those themes are HILARIOUS!!!

Sorry, but that is really interesting to see. I came into phpBB right in the big 2.0.2 -> 2.0.3 update.

Isn't that the update that 'hacking attempt' was added in?

I didn't say they sucked. They were actually still just as clean. But subSilver is a lot more fluid.

It's just interesting to see, as I said, I came in right in the 'hey look, BIG IMPORTANT CHANGES!!!!' part.

I do like it better, not a support question just wondering, why doesn't the background image at the top behind the logo and all that not show up in the CVS when I install it?

Try changing the permissions on the cache/templates/subSilver folder to be world-writable. That was my problem when I noticed that neither my header nor my footer were being included, causing the whole style to stop working.

Well, the template works. I have cache chmod'd to 777, I didn't do anything to the templates/subSilver folders though. The only image that doesn't work is the background for the header. Oh well, I'll figure it out.
