which font is used for the buttons like "new thread"
i know there was a thread but i didn't find it.

I suppose font sizes are 12 for the small ones and 14 for the bigger ones?

If one were to create a font that looked extremely close to Triplex, would it be legal to distribute it? I'm thinking it would be legal, because it wouldn't actually contain any of the data from the original, sort of like how there are several open-source projects to clone proprietary software, which are legal because they don't contain any proprietary source from the original, they just function similarly. I was wondering, does copyright apply the same way to something like a font?

Really good question Adam Atlas.

I know many times i've wanted the phpBB font, but I'm not about to shell out $$ for it.

Personally, close != same; Therefore, i wouldn't see why there would be a problem.

I guess the final option is to wait for 2.2 which uses a commen (free) font 8)

Well, it is not easy to create a font, and I don't think that it is fair for the original author (even if it would be legal).

[Triplex] can be faked pretty easily with Trebuchet in Photoshop, using the Bold font with Faux Bold applied.

And I heard that Daz was working on something for 2.2 final. Just a rumor, though
