Icons/ Smilies with dirty pixels

Post by neilfarted »

i noticed that some of the smilies new to 3.0 (namely the ones with "e_" in the filename) are made specifically with prosilver in mind, yet are not specific to the style, as they are outside the styles folder. The same is true of the icons that show up when you are posting a private message (i don't know what else these icons are used for, they are in the images/icons folder).
For us with darker-themed styles, the icons present a bit of a problem, as the dirty pixels from anti-aliasing are visible against a dark background.
is there a way to get psd's of the icon/smiley set so that i could matte them against a dark background?
i could always create an alternate smiley pack to be used with mine and other dark styles, but is it possible to remove/redirect those icons seen when posting a private message?

Hi Neil,

The smilies will be altered so they can be displayed correctly on dark backgrounds aswell as light backgrounds. :D

Edit: Download dark style phpBB3 smilies [10022009]

It appeared that using the modified smilies on light backgrounds compromised the quality of the smilies (they look squareish), so it's been released here as an 'addon'. :D

They display fine on dark backgrounds, but if you use them on a light background you will see what I mean. ;)

Of course, you can manage smilies in the administration panel under the Posting tab.
