ProSilver and Copyright

I am looking to make a skin based off of the proSilver theme, and I allowed to do that? Also, if I'm allowed to do that, would I be able to copyright it and say it is my own? You can do that with the SubSilver theme, so I'd like to know if thats possible with proSilver as well.

If I'm correct, the whole phpBB package, including the styles, are released undere GNU-GPL licence, so you can use it, modify it, redistribuite it adding your own copyright, but if you do you must do it with the same GPL licence.

Just to add to that, you must ensure to ackknowledge phpbb as the original creators of it from the GPL, though I am unsure if that is just within the backend or as well as you need to do it on the front.
