I'm preparing a new site and was going to with SMF ... but PHPBB 3.0 is looking good.
I'm wondering if it's safe to start creating my style on Beta2 ...
Do you guys anticipate a lot of changes in the style system in the next releases ?

The style system.. no.. I mean the way styles are handled is functionally completed and working as expected..
However with phpBB3.0.0 there will be a completely new style, which at this point in time remains a secret, I would say its perfectly safe to start creating your own templates, however until RC1 you will not receive any support and be aware that the style will change with 3.0.0..
But apart from that, good luck..
