Sure, it would decrease the amount of escaped quotes, but it would also increase the processing time, because it would cause PHP to look for variables to process within each language string. This is not something that one would want to implement.

That's the way they're doing it for phpBB3, but EM is currently sticking to the methods of phpBB2.

are you sure? i'm not a guru of php but the actually 2.0.x system do not call 1 languae key at time when is needed?

In fact it's the contrary that should be done. They should remove all these "..." strings and replace them by '...' .

It's done one the French translation.
