offline for a few days

Post by Nuttzy99 »

My son (14 months) and I fell. He's fine except for a few stitches and a small fracture under his eyebrow. I'm fine, but basically don't want to spend a second away from him as you can understand. It was a very traumatic experience.

His right eye will probably remain swollen shut for the next day or two and then after that he'll be able to get around better. He looks like a boxer after a rough fight ;) So perhaps late this weekend or early next week I'll be around again.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccccccckk :D

I didn't think I would be away for so long, but that's just the way things panned out. My son is doing MUCH better now and it's getting harder to tell he was even injured.

Here some pics taken two days after the accident...

...and here are some taken a couple days ago.

...so he's clearly better (the silliness was there before ;)) The stitches are out, the swelling is gone, he can open his eye all the way, the fracture on his eye orbit is healing. He's looking even better now than in these pics.

As for what happened, the short story is that I tripped over a the gate in his play room and he hit the wood floor hard. Blood was everywhere and I really thought he had a serious eye injury at first, like he landed on something. Fortunately there just happened to be some police outside of my house directing traffic and they quickly determined it was a cut above the eye and not on it. The relief was unbelievable. He had CAT scan and his brain and eye was fine. He'll probably use them as a science fair project some day :D

So anyway, I've got a lot of catching up to do now!!

I'll bet you were scared out of your mind, I know I would have been.

Glad everything is ok!
