Suggestion for EM

Post by duvelske »

Em stores the version number in the database of phpbb. But is it possible that EM also does an automatic version check if their aren't any new mods available? new versions of it? Can that be added in the program? that a developer has in the admin panel of his, her forum that he, she can his current version number. Or such kind of thing. or a php file that checks the .txt you have with the new one and if it's a new one it automaticly changes the .txt file you have on your site :S

I can be entirely wrong, but my best guess is that in the future, an RSS feed will be delivered from the phpBB mod database in order to allow seach things :).

I wanted to make an addon for the EM or someting like that so that you have a file on your site wich says wich current version their is. And on EM with a link so it will compare it with your current version  Or something like that. O i will look if i will make it ;)

i always thought that that would sometime happen in the near future. it would be really nice and also it would check if you had the latest version of phpbb

For core phpBB, this is already available, and so all the announcement, using the sourceforge feed. I think Netclectic has revived an old mod of his in this purpose some weeks ago in the request mod forum @ phpbb.com. Do a little search about this ;).
