Em is brilliant!
It makes life much easier, however can I have a few questioned answered please.
1) am I right in thinking that EM does not actually change any of the forums files until the final step, making changes to temporary files somewhere?
If so where would these files be?
2) I have several subfolders in my admin/mods folder, which was fine to install them all.
Is there any point in keeping them there now?
Do they perform any function?
Shall I remove those subfolders?
Thankyou, Zoombini

1) Files are in the folder processed
2) Once the MOD's are installed, you can deleted the folders which are in admin/mods/

Although, if you delete them, the backups made by EasyMOD will not be available. Just a word of warning.

OK, so I didnt actually delete them, I merely just moved them all to my own PC instead thinking along those lines.

At the present time, Nuttzy recommends NOT to delete MOD folders!
As GP said, it will perhaps (we don't know yet) be an obligation to leave these folders as is to be able to use the future uninstall feature.

So I should copy them back again.
This wont affect any present EM use/function will it?
Thankyou.

It won't affect anything as they are not used yet but keep them for the future beta release of EM.zoombini wrote:So I should copy them back again.

The best is to download the dirs after install to your local machine, and delete them from online site. There are many reasons at this time to do this : first of all is the size of those folders. Last but certainly not least is high security risks regarding php included in the mod itself (especially db_update.php file that are roaming along many mods today).
Whatever, the best way is to not use on your productive board easymod, and prefer a local installation to install and test mods, then upload the result and perform the sql request needed to you living board.
There are many tools that allows to setup a local environement under window. You can have an eye to http://easyphp.org" target="_blank ie.
