[user input] Problem with IN-LINE FIND (incorrect insertion)

Wondering why that MOD you have won't install correctly? Let's take a look

[user input] Problem with IN-LINE FIND (incorrect insertion)

Post by safeTsurfa »

I just installed the latest EM to see how my MOD faces up to being used with it. After commenting out the SQL command which caused an installation failure, it finally said it processed the MOD fully.

It did, but it made mistakes. I got errors in some of the php files, which when I examined them I found was caused by misplacement of code. Wherever I used an IN-LINE FIND it added the new code after the end of the entire FIND block, instead of inserting it into the required location within the block.

So any ideas what happened? I know the MOD is template compliant as it has been validated as such by both myself and the webmaster (dhn) today. I know the instructions are correct, as I did a test manual installation on a clean board exactly as written and all worked as intended.

I'm stuck for ideas. So many people use EM it would be nice if my MOD was EM friendly... or should that be EM be nice to my MOD?

1) Post a link to the MOD so that we can verify that it's the MOD's fault and not EM's.
2) Contact the author of the MOD and ask them to make the MOD compatible with EasyMOD. Also, if it's not a phpBB.com validated MOD, have them run it through the MOD validator at http://www.phpbb.com/mods/validator.php to make sure it follows the correct MOD format.

Anything else on this? I would like to know if it's an EM problem or not.
