Errors, errors ... What else can I check?

Having problems installing EM? Let's fix that
Forum rules
DO NOT give out any FTP passwords to anyone! There is no reason to do so! If you need help badly enough, create a temporary FTP account that is restricted to only the files that you need help with and give the information for that. Giving out FTP information can be very dangerous!

Errors, errors ... What else can I check?

Post by Deon »

Hi again.
I'm battling to install EM. I have done every step about 20 times over now, without any success.

Win XP Prof, IIS, PHP 5.1, mySQL (latest), phpMyAdmin to manage DB's

Using latest version of phpBB.

1. In phpMyAdmin I have created a DB, phpbb2 and a user with the same rights as my root user, called phpbb2.
2. I have successfully installed phpBB and can log in as Admin.
3. I have set full control permissions to my whole phpbb2 folder.

When installing EM, I get to almost, what I think should be one of the last steps, before running into errors.
This is what I get:

Updating EasyMOD table data
Storing config table entries: Done

Executing SQL: INSERT INTO deon_easymod ( mod_title, mod_file, mod_version, mod_author_handle, mod_author_email, mod_author_name, mod_author_url, mod_description, mod_process_date, mod_phpBB_version, mod_processed_themes, mod_processed_langs, mod_files_edited, mod_tables_added, mod_tables_altered, mod_rows_inserted) VALUES ( 'EasyMOD', 'easymod/easymod_install.php', '0.3.0', 'Nuttzy', 'pktoolkit@blizzhackers.com', 'n/a', 'http://www.blizzhackers.com', 'EasyMOD automatically perfoms in seconds which previously required the tedious task of manually editing files.', 1173366395, '2.0.22', 'subSilver', 'english', 0, 1, 0, 1)

Progress :: . Done
Result :: Some queries failed, the statements and errors are listing below

Error :: Table 'phpbb2.deon_easymod' doesn't exist
SQL :: INSERT INTO deon_easymod ( mod_title, mod_file, mod_version, mod_author_handle, mod_author_email, mod_author_name, mod_author_url, mod_description, mod_process_date, mod_phpBB_version, mod_processed_themes, mod_processed_langs, mod_files_edited, mod_tables_added, mod_tables_altered, mod_rows_inserted) VALUES ( 'EasyMOD', 'easymod/easymod_install.php', '0.3.0', 'Nuttzy', 'pktoolkit@blizzhackers.com', 'n/a', 'http://www.blizzhackers.com', 'EasyMOD automatically perfoms in seconds which previously required the tedious task of manually editing files.', 1173366395, '2.0.22', 'subSilver', 'english', 0, 1, 0, 1)

After all this errors and logging in as Admin to my forum and going to the CP, I notice that EM's menu and three sub-menus are there.
Now, surely it cannot work.

I will really apprecite your help. I have spent almost 6 hours now trying to run something that looks so easy to accomplish.

Check the database username assigned in your config.php file to make sure that it has been granted FULL Privileges in MySql...

Changing Database Username Privileges

I have seen several different flavors of this in MySql, so what you see may be slightly different from what I'm posting below. It should give you a good idea of where to look and what to do though...

Next to the database in MySql, you should see something like this icon. Click on it:

Image

That should take you to your MySQL database management page. At the bottom, you should see a section named Database users. Click on this icon:

Image

That should bring you to the Edit privileges page that may or may not look something like this. I have seen several different versions on this page but you should be able to figure out what to change:

After pressing the Submit button, you should be able to finish the EM install..
