[RFC] Pagination above QR

Postby imkingdavid » Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:52 pm

As brought up by AliasM2K, it might be beneficial to move the pagination at the bottom of the page to above the QR box when QR is enabled in the forum. However, we need to discuss the best way to do this. Should the entire line be moved up, or just pagination? Or only the pagination and the post reply button, leaving the drop-downs and "Next"/"Previous" links as they are?

Persoanlly, i think if we move the pagination, the next/previous links should be moved as well. So I think we could get away with moving the whole line. However, I think we should try out a few of the possibilities and see which ones look best.

I say:
Move both the reply button and the pagination.
We should also test for the possibility when the reply button does not show (not post rights)

I don't really like it as it would seperate the quickreply and the posts too much.

I'm not sure. Maybe rather make the quick reply box smaller (by default) and remove the subject field. Or maybe just leave quick reply hidden unless it is the last page.

Not sure I like it being open only on the last page. I took a look over one of our "sister" forums, which is running subsilver2, and this is what that looks like:
pagination_over_QR.jpg
QR in subSilver2

That looks rather functional I think.

I don't care too much for moving it here or there but I do find viewtopic.php?p=238407#p238407 interesting.
