Resubmitted the same date I'd originally guessed in the comments of this thread, oh so long ago.

not quite...it isn't january 1st yet, and that still won't count until it's january 1st around the world...there's hope yet....mind you, the contest is all for naught anyway, we all know that a beta version won't be available for another month or so minimum ...which is why I said it is for naught...

...and so it turns out that the contest was for naught.

True, plus there's probably a dozen people who guessed closer dates in this thread.

I'm still expecting my guess from the second page of this topic to be fairly close - and I am expecting that to be for the beta, most likely. The final release, well - maybe 1-3 months after that.

It is still just a guess, but I think a realistic one.

It's been explained that since phpBB 2.2 won't come out this year, they'll use the date it goes itno beta for the contest instead. This all presumes that the beta comes out before December 31st.
