Re: Ajax Tabs in ACP & MCP & UCP
Web applications are not desktop applications and will always behave differently. You cannot build a whole web application created with HTML on one single page. The tabs on the Posting screen contain options related to one action -> sending a post, whereas tabs in the ACP or UCP contain each a diffe...

Re: Official Bridges
And your suggestion is? If you are trying to say that the bridges released should be made by the team or be official, many of them will probably be written by current MOD authors from the phpBB Teams. We see now reason why not to accept other bridges from the community, especially if they have to me...

Re: A few suggestions...
It would be great if you would expand on them yourself and think them through a bit more. There isn't much to discuss right now. Re: WYSIWYG editor
One thing we should definitely keep in mind before packaging such a thing is it's size. I must say that overblown WYSWIG editors which double the download bundle size are very annoying.

Re: My personal wishlist
evil3: But what if the administrator wants to install multiple MODs, each customizing the format_date function (or supplying another instance of a method that takes care of its function)?

Re: My personal wishlist
What you are suggesting is some kind of "mixin" or multiple inheritance. Seriously, using proper OOP can help a lot. Use composition instead of inheritance. Allow replacing parts of the user instead of extending and replacing the whole user. Just saying. Yeah, it's practially a mixin. Can...

Re: My personal wishlist
You're fist suggestion is not possible, as it is would not allow two modifications to work at the same time. What you describe is extending the original class and ensuring that all instances used in phpBB would have the new method. In order to omit necessary code changes, you need to use magic metho...
