Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2

Then I guess you don't have any MODs in the MODDB that require style edits since we require prosilver edits, when needed, to be included in the MODX of all submitted and approved MODs You are right, I do not. In other words you are in the minority. Here on phpbb.com I do, but not on boards I instal...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Resuming for attachments / HTTP range sup

NTFS supports symlinks nowadays Did I missed something? Since when? Since Vista? Sorry, neither Vista, nor 7, nor 2008 will be never suitable server platforms. Will this feature be available on 2000/XP/2003? No. Since XP/2003 will live until up to 2014 - symlinks will be not available for most user...

Re: subsilver2

It causes extra work during development, that is not helping phpBB's main goal of becoming a better forum software So prosilver too. subsilver2 is not main reason of low phpBB development speed, and every member of PHPBB Team knows it perfectly. It causes extra work for MOD authors to support two v...

Re: [RFC] Attachments management

OFFTOP: but we don't really want all admins to have to understand what these are and how they work. Admins should not be programmers to manage forum, I agreed, but they must understood structure of software they manage.(Drivers should not be engineers to drive car, but they should understand how veh...

Re: [RFC] Coding Guideline Modifications

I know, it was discussed, but problem was not solved
the closing php tag should be ommited
What about MODs dependent on it? <?php and ?> was only stable elements in sources, which will never be modified by developers and other mods? Now only <?php which is unusable.

Re: It's not a MOD, it's a feature package

MODX is being developed by the phpBB team in fact. So what? Does it unusable? Does it restricts MOD authors? MODX specification already meets all requirements you mentioned in your post. So problem not in MODX specification, and not in people who created it. Each MOD author chooses own MODX usage m...

Re: It's not a MOD, it's a feature package

As for MODX I thought of having a structure very similar to the current one with the difference that instead of having a lot of changes for the whole mod, the install.xml would consist of grouped changes referring to a particular feature. Bycoja , I have analysed your post. So your suggestion forma...

Re: [RFC] Save, preview, post, etc. failsafe

My point is there is a much safer option to submit form data (AJAX). It will no be safer at all. It will create additional traffic and server load only. It is the same as to create backups in the same storage where original located(if one fail, other will fail too). Please, think again: you afraid ...
