If you're on a free forum host you won't be able to do this anyway.

Your 2x board is still there and working so you can easily go back to that and look at trying the update again in the future. I still think it's worth finding out from the hosts if they know what's happening. A blank screen is usually a suppressed php error.

It helps if you actually say what the errors are. Your config.php file must have the correct information in it to connect to the database. It doesn't matter where in the directory structure it is, if you haven't touched the config file since installation, you will still be able to connect. So have y...

Your board is on shared hosting. The total number of connection to that server, which will have many sites on it, is going over the maximum allowed.

Ask your hosts if they can take a look.

By the way, it should clear itself in less than an hour. I can see it's working now.
