Re: [RFC] VIP Paid Membership
Pay for access/content is getting more and more popular all over the web. I'd like to see phpBB be an innovator instead of a follower... Sure it may be popular with news site I'm not so sure about other sites. Would you be happy if you had to pay to access a forum for a free product (example let sa...

Adding template events, what do I fork?
Ok I read that all event request should be made against http://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-9550 but what I'm not sure on is what do I fork out from github?
All I'm wanting is to add 2 template events now and maybe more later on.

Re: [RFC] VIP Paid Membership
Also how many forum systems have you seen that have payment gateway/support for PayPal ect out of the box? IP.Board requires you to buy an addon, I think VB is the same. MyBB doesn't have this as far as I know. I don't know of any that support it right out of the box...but why can't phpBB be the fi...

Re: [RFC] VIP Paid Membership
The reason shy it that it better of as an extension is that it something very specialize and I don't see many forums needing it. How many forums have you been to that have VIP plans? and Why do you think that this is better than some of the other suggestions? *gets ready to faceplam again or even f...

Re: Event requests checked by QA teams
This is just what we do with all other patches aswell, one user implements another user which is a developer merges. We do not need an additional team here. It's not about creating a new team - we already got one, it's about defining who will be reviewing the events and how people can appeal if the...

As long as you do some permission checking first, like what I said before.EXreaction wrote:Displaying the topic title for internal links would be a major improvement

Re: [RFC] VIP Paid Membership
Anyhow for the idea, I do like the idea but it should be extension and not part of core. A few people try to say that but they never explain why. It fits the core better than other suggestions that have been made recently... The reason shy it that it better of as an extension is that it something v...

Event requests checked by QA teams
Hi everyone, In light of the fact that when a event request have been made, it needs to be checked by someone who is not the requester or the implementer Review Process: After being posted it will be reviewed to check it would work ok and then someone will either implement it for you or you can subm...

Re: [RFC] Better Magic URLs
There was a mod that did that, there one issue though - What if someone posted a link that someone in a different group can't access? Ok user get message that he can't see the topic but hey you just given away the topic title.
