Re: Installation Error - Table 'phpbb_easymod' doesn't exist
hmmm though I'm dealing with a slightly different error in the process I encountered this error. http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=26756&p=173628&hilit=Error+%3A%3A+BLOB%2FTEXT+column+%27mod_description%27+can%27t+have+a+default+value#p173628 I found that even typing the...

Re: An error message in installing Easymod
I went into Query Analyser and removed NULL DEFAULTS from the mod description and then ran everything again and things worked. Is that fine? Or do I need to do something with my MySQL database. This is just a test installation (moving to a new server) so I can mess around abit. Here is the SQL I ran...

An error message in installing Easymod
I seemed to particularly get an error at this stage: Error :: BLOB/TEXT column 'mod_description' can't have a default value SQL :: CREATE TABLE phpbb_easymod ( mod_id mediumint(8) NOT NULL auto_increment, mod_title varchar(255) NULL DEFAULT '', mod_file varchar(255) NULL DEFAULT '', mod_version varc...

Re: Bug is less,
Why do you think there is a sudden explosion with bugs? They arn't all related to the converter. Do you think its just that more people are posting bugs because they can update their phpbb2 board? Or that now we are testing it more extensively because we have more posts? Or that they are just mostly...

Re: Authentication via Windows Logon
I know communityserver.org does this with their forum systems. Really interested in how close phpbb3 can get to fulfilling the features of community server.

Re: ajax?
If you get these unofficial mods working, you should consider getting them qualified as official mods for phpbb3 when time comes. I for one would love to have these features you mentioned. We intend to, we've got a sourceforge project called TheVR, we're hoping to make a sort of fork that is really...

Re: Jabber support
gah, I keep searching for information on Jabber, but I just get a bunch of people telling me to use the search function on Jabber :P So if I'm right as it stands: 1) I go to my profile and put my blah@googlemail.com into my Jabber Address 2) I then add phpbb22@jabber.org to my buddies on googletalk ...

Re: is phpbb gonna b free 4ever?
The wierd thing is, I don't think phpbb even except donations? Apart from by buying merchandise.
I mean before making this a paid for thing, allowing for donations would bring a huge amount of revenue with a community as good as this surrounding the software.

Re: mysql or mysqli?
So what about on a phpbb3 board? I'm assuming phpbb won't take advantage of the advanced features of mysql 4 and above and mysqli? So what is the point of using mysqli?
I'm assuming you are only using your mysql database for phpbb and nothing else.
Is mysqli more secure (how?) or faster?

Re: Beta 3?
YAY!!!!!! So does that mean Area51 is now beta3? They desperately needed to release beta3, now that I do lots of bug report lerking, it did seem that most of the Beta2 bugs were irrelevant and you HAD to have the CVS to submit good bugs (not entirely true but many bugs submitted were already fixed o...
