UTC, FAQ are acronyms that are used in day-to-day life and we can expect users to know. I completely fail to see the point of this. Initial post does not explain why this would be useful. Please elaborate. ^ that, sounds like a very specific feature which only will be used by a very limited amount of users. Therefore such a thing would be far better off being an extension than a core ...

phpBB 3.1 will get a template event that will allow MODs to add navigation options through an event. No need for such a work around with additional ACP pages/database tables.

features are included because they will be helpful to the majority of phpBB boards. Only one small subset (i.e. programming-oriented boards) will even have a need for syntax highlighting. So, for features that only cater to a certain group of boards, we encourage them being implemented as extension...
