Re: Attachments Security...
no.. the attachment feature should also be able to be used to upload images so that people can view/download that image.. Instead of having to link to a topic.. If you get my drift.. I would not be satisfied if hotlinking was completely disabled because I would have a need for it sometimes.. Yawnster

Re: Attachments Security...
Personally I have come around to this idea, after you brought it up a few months back I believe, I was heavily specitical.. not quite being able to visualise the system I think.. but its a nice idea I think.. Anyway, on with brainstorming.. Having no file extension would be the best option I believe...

Re: Captchas and Human Readability
Now I like that idea, using images for each number/letter and produce an on-screen keyboard for users to use.. However im sure the arguement is that its not the input thats the problem, its the method of stopping bots.. This can be bypassed by sending the data as raw POST requests.. which although I...

Re: Some Captcha's are far too easy
It could be any question, with no multiple choice answer. Type the answer in the box. "three plus three" (answer six) "birds build" (answer nests) Perhaps an interface where the site manager could add their own questions. A sailing site might ask "steering stick" (answ...

Re: Consensus on Attachment Extensions..
I see b2z, is it a typo of bz2 ? I also see .tar, .Z, .gz but no .tgz which is a common contraction of .tar.gz (and .tar.Z ?) What about .tex ? (LaTeX) I do not think many forums would use that, but anyway... Moreover, is it possible when you had extension in the list to have a "warning, addin...

Re: Some Captcha's are far too easy
Why not have some type of 3d rendering or some SIMPLE animation (floating) going on... to throw off the computers... even color shifting that would be hard to notice to people could throw off a pc... Whats stopping the attacker from splitting that sort of image into frames and then simply reading a...

Re: What about those "community coding projects?"
Yeah, it would be nice to get a little report on them if poss. maybe just if they are under active development still or not, because I would possibly like to maybe join a team, as I am now in the position to do this, whereas last Summer I was not..

Re: Style development with Beta2 ???
The style system.. no.. I mean the way styles are handled is functionally completed and working as expected.. However with phpBB3.0.0 there will be a completely new style, which at this point in time remains a secret, I would say its perfectly safe to start creating your own templates, however until...
