Wow! Very nic, polite and professional way of handling criticism / feedback, imkingdavid. Bravo! Your detailed explanation to the comments are very much appreciated. Re: What is the future of phpBB????

phpbb3 have set new standards in forum software: even though it's less performant than most other packages (and i have good reasons to think it's less performant than 2.0), the brilliant decision to do the security audit, and the excellent job the auditors did, made it the safest system for its tim...

Re: A member's profile url should be the username

I do wish phpbb had friendly URLs like this as part of the core. Lot of people finding easily avoidable or imo unimportant arguments against it. Meh. Right now the only things keeping it from happening are an issue with path resolution and having to completely rewrite the root-level user-facing fil...

Re: Links forum in new windows

For external links, some forums send users to an intermediate page warning them that they're now leaving the site, giving them the option to continue or not. Something to consider.

Re: Change "0 new messages" display in header

If you don't want the duplication, you can turn off receiving notifications for PMs by going to the notifications settings page and unchecking the box next to "Someone sends you a private message". I get this, but since I expect new PMs to show up as a notification, what I actually want i...
