Re: [NEW THEME] 4. JS frameworks & approach

First off: this part of the discussion might be better off in it's own topic: BC for extension/styles. But my opinion on this: I think it's a bit premature to discuss all of the possible drawbacks and extension/style developers running away while we (or I for one) have really no clue what we're talk...

Re: Moving developement discussion to Discord

I must say, I didn't really know what Discord was until I Googled it yesterday. I've head about it on some tech related websites, but that's about it. Now I'm sure it works fine, but I'm afraid it would end up to be yet another communication platform to keep track of and that it won't replace IRC co...

Re: Moving developement discussion to Discord

I personally see no benefit to making a move to whatever is more popular today. IRC is easily available with a web client for everyone.

Re: [GSoC] Database Explorer within ACP

In most of the cases, only 1 actual founder of forums is responsible to oversee the database through phpMyAdmin, which is a big responsibility for one guy. As it is with the files and the host control panel. On a normal operation, DB access and file access is rarely needed, only for backups (which ...

Re: Giving Warnings as a moderator (suggestions to make it less personal)

Yes, I see what you mean. Well, if the PM could say, if you wish to dispute this, then it would have a default guide on how to do that--like contact the admin or send a group PM to the moderator team or etc. In one of our forums, our moderators give many soft-warnings. They only give an official wa...

Re: Quote font is extremely small

I'll admit, I haven't visited A51 in a while, so there may be a discussion I missed. Why are quotes showing in small font? I can barely read it. some text I agree. I don't see the benefit of reducing it by 30% (10px vs 13px). Probably because of reducing the used screen space, but I would prefer co...

Re: Why does Travis fail?

I usually don't have issues when I work from with Netbeans to do work-related stuff with Git and exceed the 79 characters. But we host Git ourselves and don't use Github, so maybe that's different. Also I'm still a bit struggling with the concept of needing to fork phpBB to my own profile, make chan...

Re: Why does Travis fail?

Well, Marc helped me trough IRC. I did exactly as he told me to do and Travis still fails.
Marc wrote:I think the error you're getting now might be caused by the web interface itself. no worries, I'll fix it
So I guess there's some work on the testing procedure... Anyway, thanks Marc.

Re: Why does Travis fail?

Urgh.... Travis fails again on the commit line that's greater than 80 characters long: [ticket/15547] Add file object to event core.avatar_driver_upload_move_file_before Jup, 83 characters. The event name and ticket identifier are 58 characters... so I have to stuff any relevant info in 22 character...
