Well that really defeats the point, there's really no need to introduce additional clicks to get to that info. Just scrolling / ctrl+f to find info is plenty. Well if your worried about space, why don't you look at something like this: http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/tabbed_profiles/ Would that fix the issue of not having enough space? That also means that we can do the same for topics as well.

I can think of a different use case, forum get hacked, someone steals a copy of the phpbb database. While it is rather hard to crack the password, you want to do the right thing and make everyone change their password. So in this case you will want to add force password change for " all " ...

Or perhaps we could do what some other software does and use index.php as the front-end file and use a query string to go to specific places, i.e. index.php?page=articles or index.php?p=viewtopic But that might be a bit extensive of a change for 3.1.
