Re: [RFC] User Self Delete

The idea is a good one, as it confirms to the self-determination of one's data and gives the user to delete his own profile along with his posts (or at least remove username and date everywhere [which might be a challenging task for posts which quoted that user or where users have manually written t...

Re: [RFC] Pretty URLs

Cleaning the topic title would basically strip all odd characters, punctuation, replace whitespace with a single hyphen ( - ), and possibly run a UTF8 strtolower() on the slug as well. While lowering latin letters is a trivial task, it is dozen times harder on the whole unicode range (which will st...

Re: Anyone ported Bad Behavior?

A 30min view on how it works (along with orange comments by me ): Analyzes HTTP headers: Recognizing a (known) browser or crawler as user agent it then either expects other headers aswell or yields on those which the agent would never send. For crawlers also uses IP lists. Good idea; the IP lists ne...

Re: [RFC] Improve User Pruning feature

return a list of results that have checkboxes next to each user, in a form, submitting which removes checked users This is very helpful. I've added this to the otherwise rather useless " are you sure... " question - it now shows: Username as link (leads to user administration) Checkbox in front of ...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Improved template engine

the template engine expects $this to have template variables, which in the executor/renderer is not the case. Therefore I will be adding a "context" class which will store variables used during template evaluation. So this issue with the current 3.0.x template system will be resolved then? Edit: ju...

Re: [Patch] Direct (php-less) attachment downloads

HTTP direct downloads are still desirable for serving up content that is accessed commonly ...which is why you can put resources (e.g. files) directly on your server without any interaction of phpBB . The attachment feature doesn't come along with permissions only, it also includes a download count...

Re: - Ideas for phpBB 3.2 -

As for the lists there is an value for what type you can do for number or for lowercase alpha etc... I wasn't talking about the existing (first) parameter of the list= -code - re-read my numbers IV, V and VII: Make the list item ( [ * ] ) have an optional parameter, like [/b] which would render to ...

Re: [RFC] Registration & Login Overhaul

Just to prevent three extra page loads just to get logged in But AJAX also sends requests and receives responses - you're just hiding (not killing) the traffic. Most AJAX implementations I encountered have bad or no fallbacks at all - most of them expect to function properly - if internet is discon...

Re: Lightbox or similar

I guess for compiling a JS gallery of all picture attachments and/or all [img] embedded pictures of a post, so when you click on one of the (thumbnailed) pictures, you get a nasty animation effect plus prior/next buttons to browse all the pictures (instead of one oldschool mouse click to have the or...
