Re: What will you do with your "new" board?

First thing I will do is install it locally, secondly test it, thirdly try to mod the (few) things that aren't included (yet), fourthly test it again, fifthly, test it once again and finally test it. This is not to express my lack of trust in the developers, on the contrary, it's a lack of trust in ...

Re: New Karma System (Theory)

not same here though. Whichever system is used to calculate karma, it won't suit my "needs". Fact is I probably have a totally different idea on what karma is/should be. But I like the brainstorming as I always like to look at matters from different viewpoints. to vph : Bayes' theorem is nothing mor...

Don't hold your breath, but there might be a chance that this could be included in the package. If it isn't, there is always the chance for a MOD. There as a time when I th...

Re: Great Mistake

Well... I'm glad somebody wrote internationalisation instead of internationalization. Having learnt British English I'm staying with it. :P Anyway, the differences between UK and US English are nothing compared to the difference between Portuguese from Portugal and Brasil (both spoken and written) w...

Re: New Karma System (Theory)

I think the theory in itself is interesting. It's not surprising that the realizations thus far have been ineffective Ineffective? I wouldn't call it that. I've seen a couple of karma systems and all work well when the system uses objective parameters. The problem is that marking a post is never ob...

Re: What is Involved in a code review of phpBB??

vanderaj does seem to know what he's talking about but then again I'm in no way qualified to give a founded opinion. With the little knowledge I have I can understand the possible exploit but I'm fairly certain I could'nt come up with an idea like that, nor even make use of it (not that I would 8) )...
