Re: [RFC] API

An API would be lovely. I'd like to see it start with an API that other PHP scripts can use with some relative degree of ease (include a file, instantiate a class or two, then start adding users). An AJAX API could be a service layer that depends on the PHP level API.

Re: [RFC] Quick Quick Reply :P

I do not see the point in having quick reply if there is still the need to click a button to get to it. The whole point of a quick reply is to not have to go through that extra step, imo. Having to click to open it isn't "quick" (granted, javascript (un)hiding is faster than a new page loading, but...

Re: [RFC] Quick Quick Reply :P

It was a compromise between the forces who did and did not want quick reply in phpBB at the time.

Re: [RFC] Add class for add_log function

In this case false is returned, so you know something went wrong, if its unintended. Assuming you check return value, which people aren't used to doing ... @naderman: The reason for the feature currently hacked into add_log is things like the "prune user" feature. user_delete is called once for eve...

Re: Searching with GET

Please be more specific. search.php processes get requests without any problems, and in fact the form at search.php already uses method=get

Needs to be something that is cross-database friendly (so not raw SQL)

Re: [RFC] Convert quoted images to links

Some templates do that, but I don't think its better. I believe scrolling bars should be avoided as much as possible, it's especially annoying on mobile browsers. You have to scroll past it no matter what ... only if you want to read past the first paragraph of text do you need use the scrollbar, t...

Better solution would be to apply a the following CSS to the quote box (for example)

Code: Select all

.quotebox {
max-height: 350 px;
overflow-y: scroll;
}
