Re: [Suggestion] Delete/modify posts in own threads

For clarity: phpBB allows the topic starter to close his own topics (if granted such permission). phpBB also allows the topic starter to delete a topic so long as no one has replied to it (and granted such permission).

I haven't changed my opinion since my first post on the topic, FWIW.

Yay for syntactic sugar. More interesting problem is how do you assign an array to the template engine?

Re: Need thoughts on "Users send e-mail via board" option

1) Yes.
2) Users get the option whether to allow contact off-board by email or not (default: on) (see UCP->Board Preferences). This should perhaps be mentioned in the FAQ.

Re: [RFC] Drop distinction between style name and style path

Would style names be limited to [a-z0-9. _-] (or whatever regex actually denotes is valid directory name on *NIX and Windows), or would there be some substiution such that a Christmas-themed style called Noël gets mapped to /styles/Nol (for a completely arbitrary example)

Re: [RFC] Double posts

You could also have it down to the forum level, some forums need it while others don't. Example you don't want to merge posts in the Development forum but you do for phpBB Discussion forum. I don't understand this use case. For what sort of forum would you not want to merge two posts in a row by th...

Re: [RFC] Like Post/Thanks system

I would think that a tech support forum would use a "like post" much like StackOverflow. I personally like the idea for 3.2 or beyond.

A user being granted moderator permissions is supposed to be removed from all foe lists at that time. Is that not happening?

Re: Ignore posts of all users on foe list

I just tried to add Nils to my foes list and was informed that was not possible. So I'm not sure how Oleg arrived at the conclusions in the OP. The Friends and Foes feature seems is one of those things that could do with a more prominent interface and/or better explanation. For example, I wonder how...

Re: [RFC] Require Subject on *all* posts

IMO the subject needlessly clutters all of the posts and should be removed. Disagree. In prosilver, the large post subject is the only major visual indication there is that you have moved from one post to the next. Granted, this is a point about the style and not the actual functionality, which I a...

Re: [RFC] WYSIWYG Editor/Rich Text Editor

I'd prefer using databases as users have the freedom to clear cookies whenever they like... Besides, cookies expire after sometime don't they? Cookies can be set to expire an arbitrary amount of time into the future. Say, six years. As long as the user visits your site in the next six years, the co...
