Both fulltext_native and fulltext_mysql require an index

Does fulltext_mysql require mysqli as the database type? If so, perhaps the option could be removed or blocked in the case that no mysqli support is available.

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

I did that, and you have to build the index before it can be used. Search worked neither before nor after. I started on a regular search index, but the system crashed during the index (possible bad drive, nothing to do with phpBB).

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

I ran a conversion of a 690,000-post database last night in a VMWare instance, and it took about 2.5 hours. I'm hoping that it was just the fact that it was in VMWare that was taking that long. I have a question about the search index rebuild, though. I ended up having to use just the MySQL rather t...

Re: MOD for Mathematics typesetting (Latex)

Though this post should be locked already, but there should a thread to discuss phpBB3 MOD to support LATEX (mathematical typesetting). While I'm sure it will be useful, the code is not at the point where the devs want people discussing mods on the official boards. Just be patient, and you'll find ...

Mine have been waiting almost since they were formed nearly four years ago. It's actually become something of a running joke.

Re: WYSIWYG message board?

I think its time we forget about people using old browsers and resolutions lower then 1024 x 768.... Its 2006 for crying out loud... if you can't download firefox or opera or IE7 by now and you're still running in 800x600, chances are you're not visiting web forums in the first place. I usually run...

Re: PHP and Perl, accelerator question

OS X is based on BSD, not FreeBSD (there is a difference). Apache, Sendmail, Postfix, PHP, Perl, and many, many other applications run just fine on FreeBSD. There is a little less support for it as the number of developers is less than with Linux, but there are plenty of servers out there running va...
