Re: Invision 2.0 is now under payment!! When out phpBB 2.2?

See, its not that easy. ;) If someone types it differently, like: 'when will 2.2 be released' 'when will it be done' 'when complete?' There are so many different variables that it is almost impossible to do so without having a scatter script. e.g. If the following words are used in the same post, i...

Re: New VB out, New IPB out, New phpBB ___

By the way, on the topic of converts, is anyone working on a system like the Unified Convertor System for phpBB2.2, or adapting Ashe's system to the new (unfinished) db system? Now might be a good time to start thinking about it, looking for a few good devs to work on those... :)

The sooner there's an IPB -> phpBB2.2 converter available, the better!

Re: New VB out, New IPB out, New phpBB ___

O_o, I've never heard of Infopop. As Graham said, they make UBB, UBB.X, OpenTopic, and probably a few others. The different versions are actually written in different languages. :P A good example is Ars Technica's forum , with its eternally broken search function. What is alexa (I thought...

Re: New VB out, New IPB out, New phpBB ___

At this time, I'd just like to take a moment to hug my phpBB, and its wonderful GPL license. :D

Re: Speeding up phpBB development

For starters 2.4 will be a progressive update ... 2.2 has been a very very significant update, all parts of phpBB 2.0.x have undergone some quite significant updates. That's the REASON. :| I guess my question is how/why was this road chosen for 2.2? Did you set out to make 2.2 such a massive overha...

Re: seo

Since we're on the topic, there's something I've been meaning to bring up about 2.2's bot handling. Specificly, ?p= in URLs. On a normal board view, there's a lot of links to individual posts, most of them via the little page icons. The problem is that it's creating ~15 new, distinct URLs for what's...

Re: Speeding up phpBB development

I think this fact (as I see it) is being missed by some because they are thinking only, in tunnel vision fashion, of 2.2 release. It doesn't exactly help that we've been told that we can 'look but don't touch' for so long. A year and a half ago we were told to come here and look at the shiny new me...

Cool, glad to hear that! :D

I've noticed one small annoyance, though. Under Mozilla at least, I can't scroll the new topic review with my mouse wheel. I'd look on the bug tracker, but I suspect this is something you guys can't fix. (ie, a bug in Mozilla) :|
