Re: SEO URLs

Well, the problem with staying on topic is we really need 2 topics - one for WHETHER and one for HOW. Since we had discussed WHETHER here earlier, I started the HOW part on phpBB Discussions . But I was sent off from there, back here. I have no issues having a discussion - but want to separate the 2...

Re: SEO URLs

I still am not convinced that SEO URLs should be a part of the core, though, because: They do not add any usability, except when publishing links with no explanation. It can be added as a MOD/plugin without many/any problems. There are a few different possible implementations. Even the SEO URLs the...

Re: SEO URLs

Ok, let's say it were By just throwing googles preferences to us is not making us abandon our POV's... In that case, I thank you for honestly accepting that your mind is made up and that you are not open to suggestions, and any amount of reasoning is not going to change that fact. I, however, am not...

Re: SEO URLs

That is english ... :| French origin ;) In any case, based on the meaning of the word, 1. To approach. 2. To accost. the sentence doesn't make any sense :) By just throwing googles preferences to us is not making us abording our pov's... Seem to have been used more in the sense of abandon. But than...

Re: SEO URLs

And TBH sooskriszta you say our points are invalid (most of the time) or saying we don't read the entire topic. But sometimes I wonder if you really read our posts and the objections we have. What do you mean "our" and "we"? What are you, a posse? I don't remember engaging in any sort of conversati...

Re: SEO URLs

Excellent post DogCow. I learn from your example and propose domain.com/forums/topic/topic-id/topic-title/page-number e.g. phpbb.com/phpbb/topic/21396/SEO-URLs/6 I see certain advantages of the above as opposed to using your methods as is: While hierarchically correct, using the forum name in the UR...

Re: SEO URLs

Re: SEO URLs

If you have been posting on this topic so far, I apologise for being a pain in the ass, but since Adam won't let us use phpBB discussion for this, so henceforth, the idea of this topic is as following: This topic is about HOW the implementation of SEO/Pretty URLs should be done. If you have concerns...

Re: SEO URLs

But how can we go about finding whether this is just me speculating or whether one implementation can actually please pretty much everyone? Should I start a thread in phpBB board? Yes. I would suggest specifically stating that the thread would be only for discussing what the URLs should look like f...

Re: SEO URLs

I can't think of good reasons why admins would want variations of the SEO URLs if the default version is good - your suggestion seemed great, and one that SHOULD satisfy most. But how can we go about finding whether this is just me speculating or whether one implementation can actually please pretty...
