Re: BBcodes

they should not be db options in the way the custom ones are. the way the standard ones should be handled is 100% from the bbcodes.html file as this allows for the most flexibility for customization for the style authors. Currently it is not handled this way by default

Re: New contacts (Telegram), Customize contacts from ACP idea.

yes the icons are horrible to work with. The contact system needs a re-write eventually to allow for the front-end to completely control the icons.

yes that is a caused by a bug. it was not necessarily caused by that pr but was made apparent by that pr. https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-15233 which caused this discussion. It has nothing to do with rules. It has to do with the fact that we can not easily control the content the backend ret...

Re: Avatars

ok not sure everyone understands what the point of an avatar really is from a design/UI perspective...especially in todays mobile/tablet day in age. The point/purpose of an avatar as switched from what we generally have used it for in the past. Its no longer just a way of personalizing a profile. It...

Re: Avatars

Even if that was the case it's not an argument to not return a default avatar when it is enabled. Besides bandwidth is not an issue with a default img that is cached. The lack of an avatar is a design constraint on theme authors exspecially when it comes to responsive and layout.

I am...

Avatars

Currently we handle avatars in a very intrusive and none standardized way. There are several source of avatars Remote Local Gravatar We also have the default avatar that we are currently using in the notification menu. You need to purge the cache from your ACP or from CLI.
because we are going to get this question if we make this change, how would one rebuild the posts table, as this only affects new posts for me?
