Re: [RFC] AJAX Quick Edit

A few things that need to be decided:
  • Should the edit button in the mcp also have a quick edit function?
  • How about the PM area?
  • Include BBCodes or not?
I'd say don't add BBCodes especially since the quick reply doesn't have bbcodes either.

Re: [RFC] AJAX Quick Edit

If someone wants to see a preview it's IMHO not a quickedit anymore.

Re: [RFC] Show number by each post

It is "that" bad. If you scroll a little bit faster you won't notice if the text is bold or not. If you want to remove the icon at least use different colors.

Re: [RFC] AJAX Quick Edit

Again, this is not perfect. Instead of that animation a loading image should probably look best. FadeIn didn't work really good as far as I remember. The quickedit button was just added as this was meant as an implementation into phpBB 3.0 and I didn't want to replace the function of the normal edit...

Re: [RFC] AJAX Quick Edit

Well changing the animation would be one of the easier tasks. ;)

Re: [RFC] AJAX Quick Edit

I've been working on more than one Quickedit MOD for a while now. That's what it currently looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8AkYLQTwO4 BBCode is not necessary but a lot of people asked for it, which is why I added it. I pasted the code that is running all that here: https://gist.github.co...

Re: [RFC] Separate style and phpBB versions in style.cfg

I like the idea, both JSON & the seperation of the style versions, although it shouldn't be a hard limit. Warning the user that the style is outdated should be enough.

Re: [RFC] Delete "Confirm e-mail address" from registration

I don't think that adding another switch will make people happy. If you want to remove the confirmation, then just remove it and don't add another setting to the ACP. IMO there are already enough settings in the ACP that people barely use. ;)

Re: [RFC] Delete "Confirm e-mail address" from registration

I don't see a reason to remove this.

AFAIK most users don't even bother reading the instructions so removing this could cause lots of complaints. ;)

Re: [RFC] Include and use jQuery

The current size of the libraries: jQuery: 83,9 kB MooTools: 86,4 kB Prototype: 159 kB You could include the files with phpBB but we should make sure they are not loaded on every page as that would increase traffic more than it's needed. 329,3 kB is more than a standard prosilver needs. If you add t...
