I agree prosilver should use CSS, and no inline javascript. HTML5 elements aren't supported by older browsers so lets stick to HTML. :) Thanks for the mockup it's great. Using png for fixed smilies and gif for animated ones, but with right background transparency.

You know guys, this is a discussion board and not a spam section... phpBB3 has it own better made smilies than the phpBB2 ones. I think they are totally okay, but the only problem i see with them. Tehy don't really look good on dark styles. On dark styles you can see the white pixels around the smil...

If 10 users post some content and writing some big text, you don't have 10 saves to database, but 20 for 10 mins. 30 users + 10 minutes = 60 saves to database 50 users + 10 minutes = 100 saves to database The database will be written more frequently. That things were just examples and they are already implemented in phpBB3 in a more or less way.
