Re: Blizzard's New Forum

The german language strings are out of area they should be in. Nice feature  Well, it is minimalistic. Actually if you want, you could make your phpBB3 the same way. Just remove all the buttons if you don't like them and it would look similar. But I don't understand what is the appeal to get l...

Well from the time there is no difference. UTC is the right word. GMT is like other timezone shortcuts, e. g. EST or PST or whatever is used in the different countries.

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Include and use jQuery

IIRC, it must be hosted locally, no CDN, etc. Actually, Google has a project "Let's make the web faster" . As I've heard, they plan (or already do) to rank pages not only on relevance but also on speed. As the use of CDN can speed up a website (since the library might already be loaded in the cache...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Switch to PHP timezone handling

besides that: Why do you use GMT and not UTC? Why do we even use either one of them? I thought the idea of switching to PHP timezone handling was so the user wouldn't have to worry about timezone offsets and whether DST is set. The user only has to select a location within their timezone and PHP wi...

Re: phpBB 4 - APIs

Social API - Facebook/Twitter/Digg... God, no. "Red Alert" API (or Interface) - phpBB rescue mode (backups) - if something went wrong, one link in your administration email should have to use backup system files... So if someone gets your e-mail-address he could simply restore a backup without any ...

Yep, I wouldn't want it to be hosted by google. I google is down, you whole site laggs because of that or doesn't work probably. (And yes, google can go down.)

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Switch to PHP timezone handling

Well the problem is that Germany is GMT+1 + DST. I actually searched upwards in GMT + 1 for it first. I think the GMT offsets should not include DST. Same for me. I searched in the GMT+1 List and didn't saw it. Then I thought perhaps it's with DST and searched on the GMT+2 list. When the page loade...

That's a huge list  Looks impressive.

But it does look nice.

I still wonder why germany is GMT+2 (o_O)

Re: "Easy" tracker tickets

an "easy" flag to jira tickets. What are jira tickets? @topic: Sounds Reasonable. An easy flag would make sure, that small bugs are fast fixed and yeah.. No objections, although sometimes the ticket you consider as easy becomes hard just when you start to fix it Well you could say that it should on...

Re: [RFC] Delete "Confirm e-mail address" from registration

That just proves the point of why this isn't a good idea. If they are already able to make these mistakes then why add more points of failure? But does it make a difference if you paste your e-mail in one field or two fields? It would be still wrong and if you paste it twice, then phpBB3 will not t...
