[RFC|Rejected] disable banning / warning groups

I wrote a MOD for phpBB 3.0.x that adds this functionality, but decided to post a RFC for adding this to the core. Basically, the MOD allows users with the manage groups permission to tick checkboxes ("group can be warned" and "group can be banned"). If a group can't be warned or banned, the appropr...

[RFC] built-in profile fields to custom profile fields

I believe this was in the blog post about 3.1 (3.2) before we moved to the new version numbering system. As I don't have much experience with the CPFs, what are the possible limitations and pros / cons of doing this? Obviously, some (username, password, email) shouldn't be allowed to be deleted, but...

[RFC] BBCode permissions and moving to all custom

Looking at the forum permissions, I see this under the "Content" tab: Can use BBCode ... Can use [flash] BBCode tag Can use [img] BBCode tag If we are going to give permissions for certain BBCodes, why not expand this to all BBCodes? While we are at it, I think its feasible to move all built-in BBCo...

Re: [RFC] Topic Title Prefixes / Subject Prefixes

I'd like to add something. I think the ability for mods / admins to change the prefix "on the fly" could also be useful. For example, populate another dropdown menu in viewtopic with all the prefixes allowed in the forum; then a mod / admin can select a prefix (or a new one), click go, and it's chan...

Re: [RFC] Topic Title Prefixes / Subject Prefixes

A problem solver for your ideea ( because yes you are right it's iritating ) would be for the user to have a checkbox ( Recieve PM when prefix changed ). I still don't see this as a useful feature. If it's your topic, I'm sure you will notice the prefix changed when you look at it. 1. To the curren...

Re: [RFC] Topic Title Prefixes / Subject Prefixes

Hi Ancyent, This wasn't supposed to be an "everything and the kitchen sink" addition, just a simple prefix option. I, for example, would get irritated really quickly if I received a PM because a moderator changed my prefix. If for some reason the prefix gets changed a lot, those PMs really start to ...

Re: [RFC] Topic Title Prefixes / Subject Prefixes

2. text prefixes with a color. That was part of the reason I made my examples in color; but yes, adding color to them would be nice. ;) What would happen on topic merge & split? I knew I forgot something! :D Topic merge: If we are merging topics, that means one topic (or post) belongs better to ano...

[RFC] Topic Title Prefixes / Subject Prefixes

This was originally a planned feature for ascraeus , but since 3.1 is feature frozen, let's look at possibly adding this to 3.2. We have to decide where we want prefixes to be displayed. I'm thinking: previewing a post bookmarks subscriptions user's "most active topic" viewforum viewtopic MCP search...

Re: Cleaning up the ACP UI

I disable the "quick access" part of the ACP 'cause I don't most (any?) of those items. I'm curious behind the reasoning for this though: Private message settings - Should be under Client communication. Client communication deals with "backend" settings, right? How would PM settings fall under that ...
