Re: GSoC 2012 Project [Need help]
I think what callumacrae possibly means is, that you should maybe first fix/add some smaller things to phpbb to get a "feel for the code". After that start with a major feature like you have been already. If you start with something big immediately and get stuck, it can become very quickly frustrati...

Re: Replying Privately to Forum-wide Post?
I think your questions are better answered on the main forums here -> http://www.phpbb.com/ .
This here is the development forum for the next versions of phpbb, not for support questions.

Re: GitHub vulnerability?
Yeah they fixed it, but only after he had to demonstrate it. The question which came to my mind is, if anyone else beside him knew about the bug and took advantage of it. From the conversation he had with the staff it appeared they did not take him seriously in the sense of "its a feature not a bug"...

Re: [RFC] Visitor Messages
This is the first time I've heard anyone, not counting the two users users that have visited this forum and suggested it, actually endorse this at all. Heck I've not seen a MOD come through on phpbb.com for this either so there's really not a whole lot of interest in this past or present. And just ...

Re: [RFC] Visitor Messages
More social? You have a platform where people can interact by posting messages and interact in discussions. How more "social" can you get. I personally have no need for the so called "modern" facebook-like social, which usually just ends in an endless list of mind numbing crap. So a definite -1 from...

Re: About Login Connectivity
I disagree, I think it should stay as a mod/add-on/plugin which shouldn't be difficult to achieve when the hooks are introduced. Also why Facebook and not Google+, Microsoft social, or one of the numerous other "social" networks?
