Re: Make the index a modular portal

That looks pretty reasonably organized to me. I think what you are really saying is that you are used to it. When you look at that box the first time you tend to see five gibberish hyperlinks instead of thirteen. Being used to bad design does not make it good design! It's not the most modern design...

Re: Remove Quote and Edit button when topic is lock

Graying them out is probably more consistent. I don't like popups but if the topic is locked my vote is for graying them out. I think Pony is right about usability. It's why a lot of online services still show you buttons to view your profile or shopping cart, but redirect you to a login page when y...

Re: New Admin redesign, see pic for draft, idea

Edit: At the time of writing you are 4th for phpbb flat design , which shows how much phpbb lacks in taking part of this design trend :) Applying it to everything because it's a hot trend is a bad idea. Personally I think the admin panel looks pretty good and doesn't need 'flattening'. This proposa...

Re: When to expect major changes in phpbb?

when dealing with real life, we call events below certain probability "physically impossible". Your misuse of the phrase is too off topic to argue about for me other than to say that Pony is right, and "we" excludes me. In practical terms it seems unlikely to me and my only complaint is that I wish...

Sure it is. It's just not likely. I'm moving my expectations to mid 2014.

Re: Anti-spam: no links until a week after third post

First, using a good Q&A CAPTCHA should stop most bots. Second, a better way would be to have a Can use hyperlinks permission (similar to those for Flash and images) which would disable all links (URL tags and "magic" links in posts, PMs and signatures and possibly disable the Website profile field)...

Re: What is the future of phpBB????

If you don't want to run composer, you can grab a nightly build from the Continuous Integration section of https://area51.phpbb.com/ ( 3.0.x , 3.1.x ). Oh, thanks. I had no idea this was around and available. At least I'm not the only person confused about where to find stuff. I looked through the ...

Re: What is the future of phpBB????

My personal take on it is because naderman is heavily involved with composer. Interesting (and props to him) but you misunderstood my question. Composer is popular among newer frameworks and I understand why it's used. My question was about why the lead devs don't run composer on their own machines...

Re: What is the future of phpBB????

That is a valid concern and I believe team is doing everything possible to make it easier. I don't want to be a pita, but after several years of asking, there still isn't a basic guide. Hi. As a windows user and a not very good developer, i can tell you that Git isn't super easy to use, but it's no...

Re: What is the future of phpBB????

I may have missed it but I'm not sure if you've actually suggested what you think needs to be done different. I can see from reading between the lines in your last post it seems like you are dissatisfied that there is no release date (or never has been for any of our releases). So what happens if w...
