Re: Olympus security

I don't remember the dates the security tracker or the investigating team got kicked off, but they were well before the main site update. for example, this announcement asking for better incident reporting is from almost two years ago.

EDIT: Beaten to the submit button yet again. :(

Re: Show us your phpBB3 websites? or not. [Showcase]...

They started considering it spam when users turned the showoff forum at the main forums into a spamfest . Very few original or creative designs got posted there as time went on. Instead, it turned into recruiting. And now the official showoff forum is no more, because users abused it. So I think it'...

Re: Your opinions about the new smilies

I agree that the current smiley “set” looks cobbled up, but other than :o (looks a little creepy), I don't object to the new design. What I'll be interested in seeing is if smiley doodlers take to the new design or not. If not, then the new design could be in trouble.

Re: Old phpBB 3 versions

Sorry, I had to take a phone call. Where was I…? Ah, yes: The karma feature. The beauty of the karma feature was that once a person had “accumulated” negative karma, his/her posts were reduced by phpBB to single informational line that could be easily ignored by everybody, thus preserving the flow o...

Indeed. Nick is being less than forthcoming. I'd give him bad karma for it if that feature still existed  .

Re: Bug is less,

The support team has been offering limited support, and the styles and MOD teams have yet to be significantly involved when it comes to support for phpBB 3. I'm not saying they're not ready for RC1 (I would have no way of knowing either way). I'm just noting that releasing RC1 is not just about the ...

Re: Bug is less,

There is of course a "hidden" factor to the release of RC1, and that's teams-wide readiness for full support of both products. Once RC1 hits the door, phpBB.com will ramp up to an unprecedented (for phpBB) level of activity. And once all the toothpaste is out of the tube, there's no getting it back ...

Re: theFinn: return to development?

In terms of the portal project, from what I remember it was not offically "abandoned", but put on hold so the developers could spend the time coding then 2.2 (now Olympus)… It's true that it was never officially abandoned (as far as I know), but I don't recall any of the developers saying that the ...
