Although, I do have to wonder what non-free developmental tools the average phpBB developer uses. I understand that subBlue probably does, but I can't think of anything else...

I know that some DBs support replication, but using the native replication would be implementation specific and would rely upon the admin knowing how (and having access to) that function. Since phpBB already has a database abstraction layer, how difficult would it be to add a mirror function A) ass...

Look, guys, stop with the conspiracy theories. Everyone who works for phpBB is volunteer -- nobody makes anything. Imagine how much a dedicated server alone costs. It's been mentioned several times that the ad income is minimal at best. And the site does have very good hosting considering the amount...

He's quite serious. You have to understand, these forums (at least right now, anyway) are the official support forums for phpBB. As such, things can't be quite as lose as they were before. There are a lot more users coming here than we're used to, and because of that the general phpBB.com rules are ...

All of them. The Olympus templating engine is a complete rewrite of the 2.0.x engine, and as such 2.0.x template are not compatible (at all) with it.
