Re: Now it's time to verify conversion from BB2 to BB3!

I don't like the sound of that much... of course, there are still backups, but I'd much rather keep the old database tables intact until I'm well satisfied things have worked. Database conversion does not alter/delete phpBB2 tables, it makes a copy that fits for phpBB3. So you don't need any backup...

Re: Font resizing method in prosilver

On the contrary, I recommend ditching it. This doesn't need to be done in script. Stop hard-coding the font in pixels and then everyone, including IE6 users (like me... at work Grrr) will be able to resize at will.. *without* refreshing the page.

Re: Now it's time to verify conversion from BB2 to BB3!

No. Just update it to the new version like the phpBB2.Y to phpBB2.x does. In otherwords, just delete the old forum and put the new v3 files in their place, then update the v2 database to v3. This way, the links to the new phpBB3 forum are the same as they were for the old V2 forum. I don't like the...

Re: suggestion to developers: please release beta-6

.... you can safely bet that if the phpbb team feel it is required, a beta 6 will happen. The last time I checked, the phpbb team seem to know what they're doing. While I'm sure they appreciate our feedback, we don't need to tell them how run their QA cycle. Just what is this adding? You could effe...

Re: How much would you pay?

kellanved makes a good point that most people are failing to grasp. phpBB is released under the GNU GPL license... the developers are more than entitled to charge for distribution of phpBB. They can charge through the nose if they like. But there would be nothing stopping you and I from turning arou...

Re: suggestion to developers: please release beta-6

I want another beta release cycle. I want to use the .MODS tab that hasn't been unhidden yet. I want to get practice using the automatic install and uninstall member functions of mod classes. I want to see if there are any bugs in the way these are implemented and prepare myself as necessary. An RC ...

Re: New phpBB Team: Web Solution Integration?

... and just to add, if you think I should have a team around me, by all means code up something missing on my public 'To-Do' list... say, for example, right now, I plan to include more WordPress widgets that list phpBB polls, team list, most active forum threads, announcements, etc etc. The code is...

Re: New phpBB Team: Web Solution Integration?

Not that I am disregarding you, Jhong, and your project, it's just in the habit to see people come and go with projects. Anyways maybe phpBB should make you in charge of a phpBB team Wordpress Integration Solution or something. LOL! Yexus: I think you did disregard my points :-) I think devel...

Re: New phpBB Team: Web Solution Integration?

Hey... I have no plans on giving up on the WordPress integration... and phpBB3 is definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to providing code classes that are easier to use/hook into -- especially with the auth system (although the WordPress plugin hooks are still way out ahead in...
