Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

You- and me- could get tons of SMS for nothing -or special programms and an own web server, then you could sent SMS for your own, with your own numbers. And there is SMS spamming as well as mail spamming, there are mobile viruses as well as computer ones, so I don't see why SMS should be more safe t...

Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

SMS??? 8O Do you really think of the Short Messages used by cellphones?
And why is it 100% accurate? You could use Internet SMS services, or- as a dumb spam mailer- write a script for it, which is not very more accurate- or safe- than emailing I think.

Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

Well, but for that you don't need a mod or new features I think, like I posted before. But you could define something with the "custom profile fields" I think. Choose the "dropdown box" here, then define a question and give two options, define one as wrong and make the whole as "Required field". Of ...

Re: New permissions screen discussion..

Though as mentioned in another thread, AJAX doesn't work with all version of browsers, so a solution is needed that will work for everybody. I personally would have no problem with it as all my browsers support AJAX, but for some people, that would mean that they would have to run FireFox or upgrad...

Re: New permissions screen discussion..

Of course the best would be to solve it with Ajax (or similar). Then you click on the submit button on one of the permission masks, and don't have to use a confirmation page etc because you stay on the same page. :D

Re: New permissions screen discussion..

Hello dhn! Well, my supported bug #7122 has been much more than fixed with the new system. Very good! But I have one remark as (usual): When I edit the, lets say, "Moderation permissions", and after that the "User permissions", only the "User p." are being saved. It is a bit complicated when editing...

Re: Beta style vs Release style?

most will probably create their own style anyway, to match it to their site Well, I think often (not always of course) the styles are "only" a modified standard style because it would take extremly long to write one from the ground on. And of course you don't have to change so much to make a new st...

Re: do you want RC1 to be released faster?

Oh, that's a very, very good idea. :D I think nobody is interested in a secure, functionable software. Of course, don't find and search bugs, but cry around the world as the first one when you find some tiny bug in the gold version. So, come on people- don't report bug! let do everything the develop...
