Re: Microsoft Is Expanding Their Anti-Piracy Program

That's interesting about the EULA. I haven't once seen it pop up a new EULA for me to read and accept. Honestly, I haven't read the EULA, I just remember reading from another news site that the current EULA does not include anything regarding WGA in the effect that they will be using it. Either way,...

Re: Forum Notifcation

With most of the forums I visit, I end up using quick reply without even realizing it's there, and then I go to a board without it and I'm like "where's the reply box?!" - and then after searching the whole page I realize I actually have to click a link first... So although I'm not a doofus h...

Re: Where can I download 3.0

3.0 is Olympus, but it is not yet in beta stage. It is still in alpha phase, but you can visit the CVS page from http://www.phpbb.com" target="_blank to download the latest snapshot. Be warned though that there is no support and there is no guarantees that any snapshot will be compatible with either...

Referring site can easily be spoofed. IIRC, It's part of the http headers that the browser/bot generates to send to the server.

Re: Microsoft Is Expanding Their Anti-Piracy Program

Well, considering WGA was added LONG after I accepted the license agreement, and I don't really have a choice to NOT install WGA (since it's mandatory to get any updates period), I think that's a huge oversight on Microsoft's part. :? And the point is not a violation of privacy, but a possible viola...

Re: Microsoft Is Expanding Their Anti-Piracy Program

How about getting a legal copy? If you can't afford Windows use something that is free. How would you like it if you owned a store, and you constantly had people stealing stuff from you? While I completely agree with that statement, I think a big issue with this is the issue of privac...

Re: New CAPTCHA

I also dislike Flash on sheer principle :D I completely agree, and the use of it would rule out the ability of users without flash-enabled browsers from accessing your forums. It's just simply an idea for a possible 'choice' of users, or perhaps more of an idea-stimulant rather than a suggestion to...

Re: New CAPTCHA

Here is an example of what I was talking about. PS view the Image to see the animation. That's really cool, but I'd be afraid that the OCR/AI buggers would just keep turning it until it found something, and I have a feeling it'd be easier to decode a properly-turned version of what you ha...
