Re: Where is the source?

No, no code has been developed for phpBB4. There have been some discussions of using already existing libraries, and those obviously have code.

Re: General Principles

dbal: Currently, phpbb supports probably more DB backend than any other bbs. there might be places dbal can be extended, streamlined, polished etc., but in general, it has proven itself so far, so we should keep (and nurture) it. I actually think phpBB needs to gather some usage data and find out j...

Re: MODS -> plugins/add-ons/extensions

So rather than standing for "MODifications" it could stand for "MODules"

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter? ;)

Re: General Principles

This seems like it would be a lot better as multiple posts, so each item could be discussed :D

Re: Gerrit Code Review System

Patches from regular users can be picked up by any other user or developer. They should be audited closely. Since they also need to go through multiple layers until they reach the release manager quality concerns should be satisfied. That still requires users to shop for a developer willing to take...

Gerrit Code Review System

One of the problems I see with the current development process is that users do not feel like their patches/code are actually being considered, and instead are just being thrown away. I propose using the Gerrit code review software Google has developed. It allows anyone to contribute, and the code d...

Re: How does the new User database work?

$email_hash = (int) (crc32(strtolower($email)) . strlen($email)); I don't suppose anyone knows how to do that in ColdFusion? :ugeek: I have convert the registration from a CF site to phpbb. Had it working in PHPBB 2.x but trying to upgrade now... As much fun as it is to remember the past, topic nec...

Re: thread pages showing but not actually there

Unfortunately, we do no support Nuke installations. They have been modified so much that suggestions we may make to fix your board may actually harm it. You will need to ask at wherever you got your forum package. In addition, phpBB2 support has been discontinued. THe only support related to phpBB2 ...

Re: I need some suggestions (greatly appreciated)

Unfortunately, just like on phpBB.com, "what do you think of my board?" topics. They are often spam, or if not spam quickly turn into spamfests.

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to PM me.

Prosilver has no post color?

It is still possible to use Colors in posts, but there is no dropdown as there is on subSilver. I didn't report it to the bug tracker since I was wondering if this was just a phpBB.com thing, but it is missing here too.

Is this on purpose or am I completely blind?
